Samsung SD210 Speaker Dock for Samsung S3, P2, T10, and Q1 MP3 Players (Black) Review

Samsung SD210 Speaker Dock for Samsung S3, P2, T10, and Q1 MP3 Players (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received Samsung SD-210 Speaker Dock for Samsung P2 MP3 Player. I'm very satisfied with the build quality and sound output.
It produces very loud output.I think that it's rather too loud when both MP3 Player and Speaker Dock is set to max volume. I think this could work well as an alarm using P2's alarm feature.
I could be incorrect. It seems to charge but the battery meter does not show movement once it's plugged in (though it has moved from 3 to 4 meters after few minutes plugged in).
I think it could work nicely as a photo frame [setting pictures as a slide].
Pros:
- Satisfying sound output
- Nice design
- Accessories has everything to run the speaker dock. AC Adapter with USB plug-in, 24-pin USB cord, and various holders for speaker dock
Cons:
- There are several holders for different Samsung players which you can insert in the slot to hold the specific players tightly in the dock, but it seems to still move when operating the player to change the song, for example.
- Seems like it is very prone to dust. Dust easily wipes away with tissue though.
- Difficult to control touch screen of P2 when it's plugged into the dock. I think it would've been nicer had there been a control (besides volume) on the dock or remote control using bluetooth. But then, it could not have been this cheap with so much option, so I'm satisfied
- Speaker is located at the bottom of the dock

Yamaha RX-V2065BL 7.2-Channel Network Digital Home Theater Receiver (Black) Review

Yamaha RX-V2065BL 7.2-Channel Network Digital Home Theater Receiver (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just received this receiver (no pun intended) yesterday. I spent around 2 months researching this purchase and finally decided to go with the RX-V2065 because I have always owned Yamaha receivers. I'm amazed at the sound quality!! This unit replaced my old Yamaha HTR-5140 and there is a world of difference in the sound. The internet radio is amazing. It sounds great and there are thousands of stations to choose from. I was listening to a radio station in India earlier. The HD radio is also a very nice feature and the few stations that I do get sound great in HD. I did have some trouble getting connected to my network because for some reason I had my router only assigning 11 IP addresses and they were all taken, so the 2065 wasn't being assigned an IP address. Was an easy fix once I discovered it. So if you have any problems connecting to your network, be sure to check your router settings first, as the Yamaha should just connect with no intervention.
CONS:
As some people have stated in other forums, Yamaha has cut some corners on their new receivers. My Yamahas have always had two power outlets on the back and I have always used one of these to plug in the subwoofer. The 2065 has no power outlets which I did not notice until after I bought it. I'm going to have to get a power strip in order to plug everything in and I won't be able to power on and off the subwoofer simply by turning the 2065 on and off.
The FM reception is not very good at all. I cannot get the two local stations that I listen to (and I could easily get them on the HTR-5140). If you go to the AVSForums and look in the 2065 thread, you will see that others have complained about this as well. With all the choices I have with the internet radio, this isn't going to be a big issue for me, but it might for someone who listens to the radio a lot.
The speaker connectors are very close together. I spent way more time than I should have getting the wires connected. If you do not already have them, I highly recommend getting banana plugs for the connections to the receiver. As soon as I get the chance I'm going to order some banana plugs and cleanup the connections.

XO Vision XO1903 In-Dash DVD Receiver with Detachable Face Review

XO Vision XO1903 In-Dash DVD Receiver with Detachable Face
Average Reviews:

How about advanced radio/dvd player with malfunctioning volume control? The volume knob works ok in warm temperatures but when I leave it in the car in sub-freezing temp it usually just increases the volume - even when turning it down - or has unpredictable effect. I've also seen the player stop playing the dvd with a 'stop' message a few times. Finally, the radio's display doesn't show song titles - a feature present in my previous mp3 player. I understand the titles are shown on external monitor - which I don't have - but it would be nice to show on the built-in display as well since not everyone has external display.

iriver T7 Volcano 4 GB USB MP3 Player (Pink ) Review

iriver T7 Volcano 4 GB USB MP3 Player (Pink )
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the iRiver T7 because I wanted a player with:
- built in USB plug
- Radio
- MSC mode for use with drag n drop
I previously had an iRiver T30 and got used to it's quirky complexity.
Compared with the T30 the T7 is very slow in all operations, playlists don't work in MSC mode, and the radio frequency shifts slightly after a short while. Even small details have changed for the worse, such as audio stopping while in the Settings and Browse menus, buttons are now harder to feel/press, and you have to press any button once to "wake up" the player before buttons can be used normally.

iriver T7 Volcano 2 GB USB MP3 Player (Brown)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The T7 Volcano is not a bad little pen drive like mp3 player it plays ogg mp3 and i think even flac has firmware upgradability but not very recently updated last time i checked their website
If you are a geek this is a great device lots of features but kind of hard to learn all the buttons.
Very nice and bright screen a shame that it doesn't do more but still excellent oled tech and even controls for display time/brightness.
FM Radio excellent as well as Recording Radio not very intuitive interface for either but both work well.
Browser feature is very nice for looking for files on the device and very fast.
Sound is excellent as all iriver products.
Very smooth design is super sleek but not super user friendly buttons sometimes require extra dexterity to use.
Great Battery life approximately 4 hours loud music or 12 hours radio/talk mp3 podcasts.
I feel for the price this product delivers.

The iriver T7 2GB Volcano is a compact Digital Audio Player (DAP) (compatible with MP3, WMA, ASF, OGG formats) with a 1-inch OLED display screen, FM radio, and voice recording.
Music, Recording, FM Tuner, USB Memory Stick The iriver T7 Volcano not only supports MP3, ASF, and WMA music file, but also OGG files of high-quality sound. It also supports SRS WOW HD, allows for 7 different equalizer settings, offers voice recording, and high-speed USB 2.0 file transfer. The UMS connection type enables you to download music, video, text, and picture files as well as firmware upgrades from PCs through iriver's proprietary PLUS3 media player.
Touch with a Digital-Analog Feeling With convenience in mind, iriver decided on a click-type interface, with a digital-analog sensibility, for the T7 Volcano's buttons. This helps you to control the buttons with your fingertips more intuitively when you are on the go or when listening to some tunes or radio around the house.
Sophisticated Design for the USB Connection The iriver T7 Volcano was designed so that its USB connection is meant to represent the image of a flaming volcano. The T7 Volcano helps you discover increased concentration, feel refreshed after hours of study, stress relief, or even inducement into a deep sleep.
Material in Harmony The T7 Volcano's buttons are made of lustrous material so they can be found easily. Its 1-inch display lets you know what song is playing or what radio station you are listening to. While the Volcano is slightly bigger than your average thumb drive, it's thinner than most other Digital Audio Players on the market, while offering many of the same features. Overall, its design presents a harmony of materials.
What's in the Box? iriver T7 Volcano 4GB USB MP3 Player (Brown), USB cable, earphones, mini software CD, Quick Start Guide, warranty information.

Jensen JiMS-125 Universal Docking Digital Music System for iPod (Black) Review

Jensen JiMS-125 Universal Docking Digital Music System for iPod (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Problem #1: if the unit is set to play your iPod, the alarm will not function. That is, if you set the alarm, then fall asleep with your iPod playing, the alarm will not go off. The unit function switch must be set to "off" for the alarm to sound! And yes I double-checked the instructions to ensure I'm operating it correctly. For this reason alone it is useless as an alarm clock.
Problem #2: The iPod only charges when docked if the unit function switch is set to "iPod" i.e. if you want your iPod to charge while you listen to the radio, you can't do it. Also unacceptable
Problem #3: I have an iPod Touch, and it is really hard to get in the dock--worried I'm going to damage my iPod getting it into the dock.
Other problems include that the display is not dimmable and is super bright.
If by chance someone else owns this unit and I'm in error in any of the above please post and let me know!

XAct XTR1UK Sirius Satellite Receiver with Universal Kit Review

XAct XTR1UK Sirius Satellite Receiver with Universal Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Sirius Satellite Radio is an excellent service, with extraordinarily rich and varied content, and therefore worthy of much more than XACT Communications offers in this "universal" kit. This review is ONLY related to XACT's equipment, and NOT to the Sirius service.
I've owned the receiver and kit for three months and I am now in the market for a replacement. Here's why:
1. The keypad interface is the least intuitive of any I've ever encountered. Although I pride myself on being something of a technophile, I must contstantly refer to the user's guide to figure how how to accomplish things with this keypad. You can't even enter a station by number directly! (You must select each of the 3 digits from a displayed list of digits using arrow keys and the enter button). Although the receiver boasts storing 18 "favorites," you can not get to any directly via the keypad; in all cases you must scroll through groupings (A through F) or lists first.
2. The user's guide has a few significant errors, such as how to store favorites channels.
3. The "universal" mount for vehicles comes with one small plastic disk with two-sided tape that adheres to the dashboard. The base unit easily detaches from this disk for use in the home. However, if you want to use it in a second VEHICLE, you need another of these little disks. XACT absolutely refuses to sell the disk alone, and insists that you spend another $50 (!) for another complete kit if you want to move the unit from car to car.
4. The display is too small, and often gets "stuck" with info from prior selections, requiring a reset.
5. Mobile reception is spotty, even in clear, unobstructed areas. I'm in the NYC suburban area, and lose the signal every ten minutes or so when on the road. A friend with an in-dash receiver for Sirius experiences no such problems.
6. In order to power this unit by batteries (for use like a walkman), you must purchase a huge, clunky wrap-around battery kit for $100 (!).
I recommend you definitely consider the Sirius service, but look for an alternative to any XACT hardware.
P.S. Since first writing this review, my XACT unit failed completely due to overheating, which I discovered is a very common problem with XACT equipment. Although the store where I purchased it provided a replacement, I fear the problem recurring after the warrantee has expired.

Enjoy all 120 channels of Sirius satellite radio while driving in your car or sitting in your living room with XAct's XTR1UK plug-and-play universal kit. Equipped with an XTR1 satellite radio receiver, a universal docking cradle, satellite antennas for both your home and car, and accompanying power sources, the kit includes everything you need to enjoy satellite radio in virtually any location.
The XTR1 conveniently displays all artist, song, and channel information on its six-line readout, which also includes a satellite-updated real-time clock. Meanwhile, selecting channels and menu options is a snap thanks to the large, easy-to-access illuminated buttons. And drivers will delight in such bonuses as the 18 station presets, which let you quickly access your favorite stations, and the S-Seek feature, which lets you know when one of your 10 stored song titles is playing on a given Sirius station. You can even search the up-to-the-minute Sirius playlists by category, channel, artist, or song title.
The XTR1 sends its signal to your stereo receiver through its built-in wireless FM transmitter, which "broadcasts" the satellite signal over an unused FM frequency--no hardwiring required. As an alternative, you can also connect the XTR1 tuner directly to you stereo's input jack (if it has one) with the included patch cable for the best possible sound quality. And the docking cradle is versatile enough to work almost anywhere. There's no need to buy separate kits for listening in the car or at home, as this kit offers everything you need.
Additional features include a wireless remote for controlling the tuner from a distance; a sleep timer and traditional alarm; a lock function that lets you restrict access (via password) to Sirius' more off-color content, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack for private listening. The XTR1 tuner, which measures 2.75 by 4.62 by 1.38 inches (W x H x D), is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
Note: You must subscribe to Sirius satellite radio to receive the satellite radio signal.
What's in the Box XTR1 satellite radio tuner, universal docking cradle, vehicle antenna, home antenna bracket, audio cables, AC adapter, 12-volt cigarette lighter adapter, wireless remote control, user's manual.

Eviant T7UC Under Cabinet 7-Inch Television, Silver Review

Eviant T7UC Under Cabinet 7-Inch Television, Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm keeping this unit only because it fits the space that I wanted it in very well - I'm not at all happy with the performance of it.
I purchased this TV to mount on a very large desk that I have. The mounting is pretty straight-forward (they supply a cardboard drilling template and a few different spacer options). One thing to keep in mind on the mounting - make sure to allow for extra space for the speakers when drilling your mounting holes (the template does not have this space added).
Electronically, this is just a very average to below-average unit. I'm using cable as my video source. The TV that was in this location previously had an excellent picture. This unit has a snowy picture, and very poor color balance (I have tried adjusting it many times - it never does get a "good" picture).
The sound is awful. You have to create a balance between two different volume sources - one on the front of the main unit, the other on the TV itself (controlled by buttons on the TV, or by the remote). Between the two, if you turn it up to the point of what I would consider normal volume, you hear a faint but noticeable high-pitched whine (my Jack Russell Terrier hears it too...). The quality of the sound is pretty bad too - very thin and tinny. They should have added an Audio Out Jack, so that you could hook up a decent set of amplified speakers to it.
The Power button on the front of the unit is a cheap, spring-loaded design; I can tell that it will create problems in the long run (it has already stuck a few times).
The clock display is a bit annoying also - most digital displays will display the single-digit time without a zero in front nowadays - 3:00, for example. This clock displays it as 03:00.
The remote must use very unique frequencies - I was not able to program my regular Tivo remote to it (not even when cycling through the hundreds of preset codes that the Tivo remote has). I then purchased a "learning" Tivo remote - even that remote wouldn't accept the "power" or "volume down" functions ("volume up" was the only button that would accept the programming).

DreamGear i.Sound MAX with Wireless Remote Control (Black) Review

DreamGear i.Sound MAX with Wireless Remote Control (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My only complaint is that you cannot find a store anywhere carrying this item (at least where I live)to preview the sound and whatnot. However, upon receiving this little beast I was pleasantly surprised. BIG sound from such a small package. As to be expected from most portable speakers this small, the lack of big booming bass is evident, however, the remaining range is quite broad and crystal clear. Where this small monster excels is in its broad sound stage. No matter where I place it, even listening off to one side or the other, this beast paints a pretty broad sound stage. No notable off-center loss of any kind. Also, as some of the reviews out there noted, this thing has a truly high level of i-pod integration. Every adapter for every iPod imaginable is in the box, and man do they slip on easily. You can also update via computer with supplied cord but I don't do this since you have to place near your computer. Mine's in the bedroom currently. Supplied manual leaves something to be desired but what is lacking in instruction can be easily figured out. Just remember to place your iPod in one of the music modes such as "playlist" or "artists" prior to placing in the i.sound max. It does not default to music when placed in the stand and doing this gives you full access to the music. Highly recommended!!! Enjoy!!

Almost as small as the iPod itself, the DreamGear i.Sound MAX speaker systemmakes a handy addition to your iPod accessory collection. The speaker system is builtaround an integrated docking station and a series of nine docking spacers for various- sized iPods. Together, the spacers and docking station can hold, charge, and sync mostnew iPods, including the iPod 3G, 4G, video, photo, mini, and nano. Listeners with olderiPods aren't left out of the loop, however, as the i.Sound MAX also offers an extra line-ininput for attaching non-dockable iPods (like the first-generation iPod and the iPodshuffle) along with other MP3 players and personal CD players.
The i.Sound MAX may be small, but it delivers a crisp sound thanks to its quartet of full- range 1.25-inch neodymium drivers, which produce an overall frequency response of180 Hz to 20 kHz. As a result, the speaker system makes a great companion in thegarage, on the back patio, or at a friend's barbecue. The real star of the i.Sound MAX,however, is its robust remote control, which offers dedicated buttons for a variety ofiPod features, including buttons for scrolling through playlists, browsing albums, orselecting shuffle or repeat play modes. The remote gives the i.Sound MAX far moreflexibility than most competing iPod speaker systems.
Other features include metal grilles for extra durability, a blue LED power indicator, adigital volume control, and a bass enhancement button. The black i.Sound MAX, whichruns on four AA batteries (not included) or AC power (adapter included), measures 10by 5.5 by 5.5 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 120-day warranty.

Tivoli Audio SBYS Songbook (Yellow/Silver) Review

Tivoli Audio SBYS Songbook (Yellow/Silver)
Average Reviews:

Based on the reviews of similar products, I was a little apprehensive.
However, I was pleasantly surprised: the reception is good, the sound is on par with the price (although I wish the bass/treble were adjustable - a little too much bass for my taste). 4 stars because it's on the expensive side.
If you use rechargeable batteries this model WILL recharge them - You never have to remove the batteries (6 x AA) to charge them - that's good too because they are kinda hard to install.
Other features: The battery compartment is locked with a screw (removable with a dime). Can also be hung on the wall(with a picture frame hook). Alarm/Sleep & clock - display light.

MAXELL P-4 Digital FM Transmitter for iPod Review

MAXELL P-4 Digital FM Transmitter for iPod
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This FM transmitter is by far the best I have ever used. I used to have the Griffin iTrip and decided that I hate it so I purchased this one for a really low price. To say it shortly, I was amazed by the sound quality and the range. It sounds perfect at a close range, and the quality doesn't decrease when you get further away. I decided to test out the range one day and I was almost a whole city block away before it started to get fuzzy. This thing is absolutely amazing! Now I'm sad, though, because I got the new iPod video and this one won't work with it. I'll have to upgrade to the bottom dock version and see if that one works better.

Sony ZS-X10WHITE AM-FM CD Boombox (White) Review

Sony ZS-X10WHITE AM-FM CD Boombox (White)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The sound quality is excellent and far superior to the average cheap boombox. The megabass option fills in the low frequencies and makes the sound more natural (however, if you're looking for a bass monster, this isn't it). FM performance is decent and there is a fully retractible antenna that can be hidden away in the body of the unit. The FM tuner presets can be set by an easy automatic scan, or you can set specific stations manually. The unit is approx. 20"W x 10"D x 6"H, due mostly to the twin passive radiators which provide the bass frequencies. This unit will spend most of its time in the bedroom on a dresser but it is highly portable with an integrated carrying handle. CD performance is excellent, with fast spin-up/spin-down times and quick seek and fast-forward functions. The overall design is clean and futuristic - definitely not your average box - and overall build quality seems first-rate. I am 100% pleased with this purchase!

SONY MEX-5DI CD Receiver for Car Stereo Review

SONY MEX-5DI CD Receiver for Car Stereo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Let's start by getting the obvious out of the way. This cd player is gorgeous. From the chrome face and lcd screen, to the amount of features the Mex-5di offers, it's quite an amazing head unit. Cd/mp3 playback quality is great, but keep in mind that the Mex-5di has no built-in amplification, so for good sound quality you'll also need good aftermarket amplifiers.

The motorized cd tray is a nice touch, and coupled with Sony's G-protection, you'll never hear another distracting "chirp" of the cd skipping when you drive through a pothole.

Also nice is the ability to personalize your cd player with pictures and short movie clips. Sizing the movie clips for playback takes some work however, as the image cannot be over 64x64 bytes and cannot be more than 10 frames long. The Mex-5di is more flexible with still pictures, and will automatically size pictures to fit the display.

Most important to keep in mind is the fact that the short movie clips and slideshows will play back WHILE DRIVING, and it is completely legal for it to do so.

I do however have one complaint about this cd player, and that is the lack of a detachable face. For one, anyone who sees you drive by will most likely see your bright expensive cd player shining back at them. Sony did come up with an alternative method to deter theft, but without giving away what it is... let's just say it won't work, and without an alarm system on your car you'll spend a lot of time worrying about the safety of your cd player.

Also, I live in New England and in the winter the temperature in the car will often times drop below freezing. Without a detachable faceplate, the liquid crystal display is subject to the elements and it will freeze. This won't be a problem unless you turn the unit on while the temperature in the car is below freezing. When the Mex-5di's display turns on while the crystals are frozen, the rapid heating will cause the crystals to expand and crack, ruining the display. So remember to keep the unit off for a good 10 minutes while the car is warming up.
All in all, the Mex-5di is a top-notch cd player. If Sony came out with this same model tomorrow with a detach face, I would sell my Mex-5di and buy the new model. But as of right now, this cd player is hands-down the best on the market.

thing about this kit, that is makes you self aware that there are other radio stations riding along the local ones that provide services to businesses and other commercial establishments. Please be aware that this kit is for home use only, or else you may end up paying the required fees for the services.
