Although it appears to be an above average product when seen on the internet - upon closer inspection after receipt, it did not appear to be capable of withstanding the outdoor elements. It basically is made entirely of plastic and not completely in line with what one might expect at this price point. One of the pieces of the housing was also cracked. Otherwise, it might be a decent buy.

Davis 6250 Vantage Vue Complete Wireless Weather Station Review

(More customer reviews)Cannot say enough about how much I like this station! It performs exactly as advertised and is very easy to install and operate. It appears to have been constructed with quality components that should survive the potential hurricane winds we expect in Florida. It connects easily with the internet (using the not-included link components purchased separately) and it is nice to be able to access the weather "in your backyard" from anywhere you have internet connection capability across the planet. Folks are impressed when I "access" the weather at home using my iPhone!
As usual, I purchased this station from Amazon, Why? Because I know that if it did not meet, or exceed, my expectations it would be returned without the slightest hassle. Amazon replaced a huge wide-screen TV last year when I detected a slight black line running through the center of the TV. You had to stand off to the side "to see" the line but that was enough for me to ask for a replacement. Amazon shipped the new TV without even receiving the old one back! The old one was picked up at the same time the new one was delivered. Fantastic!

Atomic Clock feature works fine and the range and accuracy on the remote sensor seems fair enough -- there is often about a 1-2 degree difference between the sensor and main unit if set right next to each other, but this is minor for the uses we get out of it (a quick look at outside temps during the winter).
The only issue we ran into that was "problematic" was the Ice Alarm feature. This feature sets off the devices alarm anytime the temperature drops between 32 and 27 degrees or so to alert you to possible icy conditions. The problem is that in cold climates the temperature hovers in that range all winter long...so the alarm goes off continually every 40 seconds or so.
We just happened upon a solution that has worked perfectly. The ice alarm only works on Channel 1. So, if you set the outside sensor to Channel 2 or 3 the ice alarm is disabled and is no longer triggered. Obviously, they should have an ability to shut it off, but this is it...and even this isn't listed in the instructions.
