(More customer reviews)Not a marine grade set. The cd player would not eject the disc I had inside. Sound was ok. Stereo case was rusting after 8 months of use. Audio would go in and out at speed. According to troubleshooting it claims that the radio was at the improper angle. I modified the angle and still would go in and out. I replaced the stereo with a pioneer and have had no issues since. The speakers have ok sound but again not marine grade. The mounting hardware has rusted and now the cones have seperated from the speaker. Trust me on this one. Don't waste your money.

Apparently the salt air was to much for this state of the art marine radio. It stopped working after 2 weeks!!!! Marine radio not so much. Where is the special coating mentioned in the description. Complete rip off!

After installing this unit in my boat (done by a professional at a reputable yacht yard) and having many problems with the stereo in the weeks and months since then, I consulted the help of two different stereo experts on two different occasions to troubleshoot my problems....the verdict: this stereo is garbage - DO NOT BUY. One of the professionals said that he "knew someone else with the same stereo who had the same problem." The other said "Boss equipment is low grade stuff and there's no way they should be charging $200 for this."
The problem:It blows speakers....speakers that it should never be able to blow because of the wattage rating. Speakers that should never have blown because I never cranked the volume. There is no auto protect mode on this head unit either, so after it blows the speakers the unit becomes dangerously hot due to the massive loss of resistance and becomes a fire hazard. We believe it is also to blame for other electrical problems that have occurred on my boat since the installation.
This stereo is the devil. DO NOT BUY.

Boss MR1600W Marine CE Receiver Review

(More customer reviews)I installed this unit in my Crownline 266 CCR to replace the failed factory TAPE deck...lol.
Easy to install, great sound, solid construction, the included remote wiring easily made it to my swim platform where I installed it for easy access when socializing behind the boat at the sand bar.
One feature I was pleasantly surprised to see that isn't really mentioned in the documentation on line or in the manual is that even if you cut power to this unit completely (like disconnecting the battery or using a battery switch,) the unit remembers all your settings and stations. VERY nice feature to have on a boat that is stored during the week and used on the weekends.
Over all...very happy with this purchase and recommend it for anyone looking to buy. The price here was as much as I could find it for re-firbed on EBay.

(More customer reviews)This thing ROCKS. It is so well thought out. It has everything I want in a marine stereo.
I installed it a month ago and I am really hoping it holds up. I've gone through lots of boat stereos over the years but this looks like the last one I will ever buy.
This unit does not have CD player in it which is a HUGE plus as far as I am concerned. CD players only last a season or two down here on the Texas Gulf coast. I wanted a stereo that had simple way to connect my iTouch/iPhone to the stereo. The Fusion IP600G makes it so easy. Flip down the gasketed face plate, push in the pod, flip up face plate and crank it. The pod is sealed in tight. No cables, no adaptors and no iPod sliding around on the deck.
I also ordered the IP56 Remote Control. Even though the stereo is supposed to be very weather resistant, I mounted it in the console to keep it out of the weather. I mounted the remote control on the dash. Mounting the remote requires drilling a big 3" hole in the dash but there was room. I drilled out a smaller 1 1/4" hole where an old remote use to be. Turned out to be a very neat installation.
The controls are big, easy to see, easy to use and very intuitive on both pieces. I really like the volumne knobs. You don't have to look at it to do someting as simple as changing the volume. Both units have a mute button which has always been one of my requirements. Being able to kill the stereo quickly is very useful when things go ballistic on board. The remote has a screen and shows song names and other important info as does the stereo unit.
It has a ton more capabilities than I will ever use. Got them both at a great price on Amazon I highly recommend it!

(More customer reviews)I bought this item because I wanted all of the items included in the package (cover, & speakers). It seemed like a good value and Pyles website listed it for well over $200 and I thought I was getting a good price from the amazon seller AntOnline.
Well the unit arrived and was miserably disappointed because the unit felt cheap, flea market made in China cheap. Actually I never really hooked it up to hear the sound or CD quality or functionality - The radio faceplate would not close properly, and if I tried really hard and pressed on the left edge it sorta closed, but then it popped open as soon as you started manipulating buttons. Im not sure if this was a product defect or a security measure to deter thieves from deciding that this piece of #$%^& was not worth stealing.
The "waterproof" feature is actually black tape covering all the vent holes in the chassis and I'm not too confident that this unit would actually hold up a marine environment. The splashproof housing cover had weak/worn springs and would not stay open - thus was useless. Speakers were tiny with tiny magnets - I did not test them.
All in all I would say a big thumbs down - I think I'm going

Either there is a quirk to the installation or their quality control is poor. All I can offer is that I didn't have any problem installing the DUAL unit and it has the same wiring setup - draw your own conclusions.

(More customer reviews)We always use an Ipod when we are on the boat, so this sounded great! Installation was easy, I have two amps and this has pre amp outputs for front, rear and sub woofer so I just had to plug them in. Great sound, doesn't have any different sound features, just bass and treble adjustments along with bass boost if you have a sub woofer, but it sounds great. When you put your Ipod inside, which is pretty easy, it is secure so you don't have to worry about it getting wet or bouncing all over you dash. It also charges when it is docked inside. Won't support the Iphone, but I have had just about every Ipod docked in it and they all worked. The "touch pad" controls are not as sensitive or fast as you would think, sometime you have to touch them a few time to get it to work. The wireless remote is great. My stereo is mounted at an angle (2001 Ski Centurion)and if you are sitting down in the back set you need to hold the remote up high to work, not a big deal. The only real negative thing that I have with the stereo is that if you find a specific song, playlist or whatever it is time consuming and you will need the directions until you have done it a few time. The great thing is though, it has an aux input so you can always plug another Ipod in that way.

(More customer reviews)We are very pleased with purchasing this product. We didn't want anything high tech with high price tag. We are very impressed with the sound. Even with just the 2 speakers that came with unit, we can easily hear stereo with boat running. We are going to be adding 2 more speakers to get an extra punch, but 2 are quite adequate. We were disappointed after initial installation, because stereo would cut out on us everytime we were out on the lake, after short time of usage. After seeing other reviews, it looks as though others have had similiar problems, and just hated the thought of removing from boat and sending back.So, after further thought, my husband decided to make one last attempt to make it work to avoid sending back. Although he was certain he had the unit grounded properly, as he's installed more than one stereo in his life time, he decided to re ground the wire. He ended up going back and tapping into the boats main grounding line, instead of running separately. This stereo has NOT cut out on us since, and so please with the performance since. We have listened to it for hours a day, many days in a row, with absolutely no problems. MAKE SURE UNIT IS GROUNDED PROPERLY! If nothing else, tap into existing grounding line. The only regret we do have is purchasing a cheap $5 antenna with it, which does not do the job well enough on the lake. So that will be another purchase for us when we get 2 additional speakers. I would recommend this product to anyone!

PYLE PLMR19W AM/FM-MPX PLL Tuning Radio with SD/MMC/USB and Weather Band Review

(More customer reviews)I couldn't find a whole lot of reviews of this product when I was shopping so I'm making it a point to review it for future shoppers.
First things first. There are several websites that state that this is a CD-R player. I can assure you that there is NO CD player on this unit. It is strictly SD card, USB, and radio.
I also found one owners manual that stated how to remove the detachable face. well there is no "detachable face" its a one piece unit.
The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the box is that it is extremely light. (I'm thinking cheaply made) it may be however that it just doesn't have a cd player in there to weigh it down i don't know.
After a couple days of use, I have decided that it is pretty cheaply made, the volume knob is grinding and i can feel considerable resistance on parts of the rotation. It is also kind of loose or wabbly. (technical term)
Another downside I've found is that I can't search tracks or directories in USB mode like I thought I was going to be able to do. So now I've got like 600 songs on a flash drive plugged into it and the only thing I can do is skip ahead by 1 track or skip ahead by 10 tracks at a time. It does list what the song title is and the directory that it's in but I can't search through the directories at all.
There are a couple different owners manuals for this thing. One is on pyles website, but it's different than the one that came with my unit. The one on plyles websites gives detailed intructions on how to search through directories, (which doesn't work) and on my manual there is no indication of how to do so.
But when i press the button to search for tracks i do get a "trk srch" display, but when i turn the volume knob to actually search through them (as per pyles website) the only thing that happens is the volume goes up :)
It seems to be a decent unit for the price. $73 plus shipping so i can't complain too much. radio and weather band work as described. I haven't plugged an sd card in there yet so i can't comment on that function.
