(More customer reviews)Received this as a gift. Seems to have many neat and user friendly gadgets. The synching of the ipod to the main unit via blue-tooth technology is neat, but frankly not needed as you still need power cords, etc for each unit.
What I discovered as I turned it on is the sound was TERRIBLE. On the packaging it states 200watts, however, the amp pushes 45 watts max. Oh and... the speakers are two 1/2 inch tweeters, 2 1 and 1/2 inch mids and a non-existant sub.
Having neat packaging, blue-tooth capabilities and a head unit that magically slides to the right so you can load a CD is great but when the sound quality is like any other made-in-china gadget, I must say pass. Don't make the mistake of buying this piece of garbage.

(More customer reviews)The sound on this system is good and it is not to difficult to use outside of how easy it shorts out when an iPod is connected to it. The memory is also entirely rebooted when the power goes out or when it shorts out. If you do not put the iPod into the dock at the correct angle it will cause the unit to trip. It is a pain. I have given u trying to reprogram radio stations because it happens so often. Quite a hassle.

Vers 2X iPod Sound System (Cherry Wood) Review

(More customer reviews)My wife and I purchased this as a music player for our baby's room. When we first got it, as we imagined, it looked beautiful and for sometime, it worked well.
The problem (as best as I can describe it) started happening about a week after use. When we turn on the unit, the music will play but only for a while before going quiet - no sound. The time it takes to go quiet varies. Sometimes, it's very gradual, over several minutes it will just start getting quieter and quieter until we can't hear it anymore. Sometimes, it's almost instantaneous - we can hear one or two words of the song before it goes quiet. Once quiet (or effectively mute) the only way we can get it play music again or hear sound is to power off and power on the device to start it again. We would have to do this about 10-12 times before the until will play music at the desired volume for any amount of extended play and even then, the volume will very slowly decrease over time.
I've sent the above description to the manufacturers as per their instructions and I may be able to recommend the product depending on their actions so we'll see yet.
(Update)
Since posting this, I've contacted Vers directly. They have shipped a new unit with a return label. Upon receipt of the new unit, I will ship them back the defective unit. Hopefully, this solves my problem BUT nonetheless, I'm very happy with the customer service from Vers. I have no problems recommending their product now.
(Update 2 - Had to delete my review and repost it with the appropriate star/product rating)
It's been about 2 weeks now that we've received our new Vers 2x direct from the manufacturer and so far so good. One thing that is for sure, their customer support is the best I've ever received for any product. Return shipping of the defective unit was covered and I'm in Canada! They have identified the issue and indicated it as a known defect but all new units no longer have this problem. It was an issue on older units and only ~5% of them had this problem...so if after a week or so of use, you don't have the sound fade issue, you should be good to go. As indicated, this product (and product support) deserves 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)The Sharp DK-A1 is a solid choice if looking for a way to play your I-pod externally. The positives include: very good sound. My sister has the Bose sound system for her I-pod which costs over twice as much from what I paid, but does not sound any better. The Sharp casts very deep, full sound, with lots of base for such a small unit. The E-sound button magnifies the bass nicely, but will become distorted, if the sound is too loud with it on. The illuminated blue lights are a nice touch and look great at night. The general design is nicely laid out. The negatives are: Limited range with the remote. I can only use the remote if I am within 6 ft of the console. In addition I am unable to change the play lists from the remote. It will only control the sound level and allow you to change the songs from the same play lists. I would have liked if this system had a handle to carry it from room to room and had a built in antenna, rather than the external wires which are a nuance to disconnect and reconnect when moving the system. The display panel in the front of the unit only says I-pod when the I-pod is in use, rather than display the artist and song playing. You need to look at the display of the I-pod to get this information which isn't nearly as visible as the display on the unit. Also, the AM radio only gets adequate reception. In general, I do recommend the Sharp DK-A1 as it does deliver very good sound at an affordable price but wish it had better thought out features.

If you are looking for natural studio reference quality sound reproduction with style and simplicity, you have now found it.
True stereo sound from one beautifully designed enclosure and no wires!
One remote control handles all functions.
This unit plays CDs, I-Pods and I-Phones and will accept connection to all other manner of inputs. The only drawback is that the built in FM radio antenna does not receive strong stereo signals but why bother when you can play any world radio station through an I-Phone with a wi-fi connection and charge your phone at the same time. I have not switched on my expensive high-end music system since buying the Genevasound. The speaker enclosures are a wonder to hear and also look great.
Very highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)My only complaint is that you cannot find a store anywhere carrying this item (at least where I live)to preview the sound and whatnot. However, upon receiving this little beast I was pleasantly surprised. BIG sound from such a small package. As to be expected from most portable speakers this small, the lack of big booming bass is evident, however, the remaining range is quite broad and crystal clear. Where this small monster excels is in its broad sound stage. No matter where I place it, even listening off to one side or the other, this beast paints a pretty broad sound stage. No notable off-center loss of any kind. Also, as some of the reviews out there noted, this thing has a truly high level of i-pod integration. Every adapter for every iPod imaginable is in the box, and man do they slip on easily. You can also update via computer with supplied cord but I don't do this since you have to place near your computer. Mine's in the bedroom currently. Supplied manual leaves something to be desired but what is lacking in instruction can be easily figured out. Just remember to place your iPod in one of the music modes such as "playlist" or "artists" prior to placing in the i.sound max. It does not default to music when placed in the stand and doing this gives you full access to the music. Highly recommended!!! Enjoy!!

Emerson iTone iP500BK Portable Audio System for iPods (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my kitchen to mount under our cabinets. It works well for the space and is easy to use. Installation was okay - we had to reinstall twice to make the mount work correctly.
Pros:
Good sound for my mid-sized kitchen. The sound is clear and easy to here even in another room.
Remote is convenient and easy to use.
Under cabinet mount gets the unit up and off my counter top so I don't have to worry about getting the unit wet.
The unit can be removed quite easily and used on battery when needed.
Cons:
When my iPod (30) is sitting in the cradle it does not seem stable - it is very loose so I am worried about the mount connection becoming damaged. I don't know if another size iPod would be more stable.
The FM antennae is a wire that is screwed into the back (can be removed) so it is inconvenient to move with the unit.
The unit can be snapped back and out of the way and the clasp is not as strong as it should be - if we bump the unit it will fall down easily.
Overall I am satisfied with this product. As you can see from my review, the Pros outweigh the cons for me.

Likes:
1. Easy to plug iPod in on top
2. Quality of sound is good
3. Size of device is small
Dislikes:
1. Contols for the radio and other featues only available via the remote
2. Remote distance is limited, I was hoping to have the unit inside the house near a window to the deck and control things via remote anywhere on the deck. Turns out I need to be about 5' or less from the window to work
3. volume is fairly low, need to turn the volume up to around 35 to play light level on the deck. Unit goes up to 60 and is fairly loud but might be a stretch for a large party
Overall good unit, I'm happy with it but wish the price was a little lower.

(More customer reviews)In general I think the Logitech Pure-Fi Express is a good product. It's pleasing looking, fairly compact and easy to use. It comes with a bunch of iPod docking adapters which allows you to use a number of models in it. The remote feature is nice to have but, since I use it in my office I prefer to keep it at arms length. Actually, the remote stopped working the other day - which is a bit disappointing. As for the sound, don't expect to be "moved". It has absolutely no bottom end (= bass). If you are looking for high quality, room filling sound I suggest looking at a higher price point. If you just want to be able to listen to your iPod without wearing headphones - this'll do just fine.

It certainly sounds better than the iHome (but don't expect an audiophile experience), but although it has a clock, a radio, and a sleep function, it doesn't have an alarm function to wake you to music. Seems silly not to include an alarm in a unit like this. I don't know what Logictech was thinking. I haven't had any of the failures other people have reported here. It seems to be working fine after using every day for about 1 month.

1)Slips out of the ipod rather easily because it lacks the little clips on the sides that some of these connectors have--very annoying.
2)The shaft of this connector that goes into the ipod wasn't long enough to connect properly after I put a rubber case protector on it. Not really the fault of this unit, but the reality is that most people will probably have a similar experience given that you buy this to use with your ipod in the car.
3)Not all channels are available, so if you find a clear channel on your car radio, it might not be available on this unit.
4)Does not scan automatically to find the next clear channel like some of the more expensive models do, so trying to get to a clear channel between this and your car stereo is at least as involved as texting while you drive. I don't recommend doing either. It's a royal pain when you're driving and you start getting interference.
To sum up, I decided to use an old cassette tape converter / connector instead. It makes a little noise due to the plastic gears spinning which is not ideal, but I usually only hear it between songs when no music is playing. (Maybe by now they've improved these and you can get one that doesn't have moving parts that make noise). That said, much better sound quality and not losing your signal and having to adjust your radio station and the station on the FM Transmitter while driving make it a much better option in my opinion.

I would like to respond to the previous user's review as it is honorable, but innocently false.
I also own the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's and the Klipsch iFi's, but I'm not sure why the previous user had such a difficult time getting his iFi to sound/image better than his Promedias, so let met male this clear: In no way shape or form is the Promedia 2.1 speaker system even remotely close to the quality, finesse and craftsmanship of the Klipsch iFi. The iFi achieves a far higher level of sound clarity and precision, while being more efficient, effective and exquisite. Klipsch tested the iFi to be almost three times louder at the respective maximum SPL while even maintaining a higher discipline of distortion than the Promedias 2.1's. Yes, three times louder with better sound quality. This does not even put them in the same category. That fact alone can whole heartily explain the price difference between them, but allow me to elaborate even further. The iFi's own RSX-3 satellite speakres provide much more impact and fuller and deeper midrange from a stronger, bigger and more capable aluminum driver. The 2.1's sats use a paper cone driver which is smaller and weaker and is held to the baffle with a cheap foam surround. The iFi employs a better, more elaborate titanium horn loaded tweeter that delivers far more sound with greater accuracy than the cheap plastic ones on the 2.1's. The RSX's are far more sophisticated speakers and deliver a sound that is sonically superior and louder than the proimedia satellites. I'm sorry to undermine the previous reviewer, but he is simply wrong.
The subwoofer even divides these two systems further. The 2.1's use a smaller 6.5" woofer with less power in a small enclosure that lacks both depth and proper porting as it emits gobs of port flutter when being pushed hard. The ifi `s subwoofer is a true beast with a full 10Hz lower frequency range, higher SPL, and far less distortion. Please don't get me wrong, the Klispch 2.1's are great speakers and that's exactly why the iFi is also a great system. Because it simply doest just offer the same experience with the addition of an iPod dock for three times the money. It offers you three times the sound quality and, conveniently has an iPod dock. I should also indicate that the remote, while slightly clumsy and small, is the best iPod speaker remote available do to its range.
I would not trade four promedia 2.1 sets for my iFi's
Here are pictures so you can clearly see I have both systems. You can also see the size difference of the subwoofer and the quality difference of the speakers.
Make no mistake, the iFi's trounce the Promeida 2.1's.
