(More customer reviews)It took returning this item 3 times and still not being completely satisfied...but finally realized it is not Amazon's fault and we could have done it 3 more times and the front of the system was still going to have scratches on it. As far as the silver dial on front....I would say that it is not made well..if you push it on one side it looks like it's going to come off, which is why we initially returned the first one. The second one came with scratches all over the front...again...not the fault of Amazon..so by the tine the third one arrived and was also scratched we realized that it was happening during the manufacturing of the item and shame on Sonoro for poor quality control. We decided to keep it anyway...the sound is great!

For the mid-price, the sound is OKAY, frankly, if you want great sound, save up the several hundred dollars and buy a Bose. What you get here is something akin to a table radio with a spot for your I-Pod. I have an I-pod classic and a Nano (2009 model) and they both get into the dock easily. The volume is adjustable; despite the other reviews here, I am having no sound/volume problems. So far, I have used this as a desk player and at an event where I just wanted some music as I sat around with people passing by. The Tag-along is VERY lightweight, making it easy to cart around. Overall, a satisfactory music maker if you don't get your expectations too high.

Sylvania Dock and Clock Radio PLL Dual Alarm for iPod and iPhone Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this docking station thinking I would get an inexpensive, but functional docking station for my iTouch. I was largely wrong on both accounts. Although it was cheap, it was money wasted and I've since purchased a new Sony Dreammachine to replace the Synvania dock and clock. Why? Several reasons. First, if you want the alarm to work, you need the backlight lit. That doesn't sound like a problem until you see the backlight. Even at it's lowest setting, I'm pretty sure planes could navigate off it it. It is so bright, it lights up a 30 foot hallwall into my room when the door is open. And that's on the "dim" setting. Don't even get me started with the "bright" setting. If you turn off the light, the alarm doesn't work. The other significant problem is that it doesn't recharge my iTouch. It did, for about 3 months, but then it stopped and never restarted. So I can listen to music, but I can't recharge. All in all, this docking station was a complete waste of money.

(More customer reviews)First, let me say that as far as being an iPod dock, this is a nice one. It appears to be very well made, has a nice heft to it. Fit and finish are excellent, sound quality is first rate through external speakers. (It also has a very tinny internal speaker which sounds awful.)
But Amazon's description is not correct. This device IS NOT a clock radio, it has NO CLOCK and NO RADIO. It has only a sleep timer.
Also be aware that this device CAN NOT sync your iPod to a computer, because it has no USB port to do that. The one USB port on it is usable only to play music files from a flash drive.
These simple design omissions make this a less than desirable product. Sangean should be ashamed for leaving them out, since they would have cost very little to add, especially the missing USB port for a computer.
Overall I am very disappointed, and I can't recommend this item.

Denon ASD-3W Wifi Network iPod Dock (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)For the 1st couple of days I was feeling so-so on this product. The user interface is slow and clunky. So it took some getting used to. I don't know how many times I entered the wep key and ssid for wireless access. But after some time I have successfully used all the features and I'm quite happy with it.
I have a new ipod classic and this is my 1st experience with video on ipods. On the tiny screen, videos look quite good and (at least I) can watch a reasonable amount of them that way. I was hoping for a better video experience when using the ASD-3W. The video quality is just ok on my HD panasonic tv. Something just slightly below ordinary non-HD tv broadcasts. And some are better than others depending on the quality of the equipment used to shoot the video as well as any conversion software. So if you were looking to rip your DVD library to your ipod and enjoy those movies like you did from a DVD player, you will be disappointed. But for TV series and video podcasts, it's not too bad.
The best thing though is along with all the music/video on the ipod, you have access to internet radio and also pics and music you have stored on your pc through win media player. This really makes the deal on this device. There is just tons of great FREE music and podcasts out there and this product allows you access to all that. The higher res channels/stations sound quite good too. It's also cool to view your digital pics stored on the PC while listening to your favorite internet radio station.
I wish the video quality was better, but I think the start-of-the-art isn't quite there yet, but reasonably acceptable for now. I'm sure in several years we will have 1080p coming out of the ipods and devices like this will be the main AV entertainment device. I'm saving up for the next generation or the one after that. But I'm happy and pleased with this new addition to my AV system.

Having a menu of all my music on screen and being able to control it by remote control is so cool! Streaming internet radio is simple as it is built in to the menu system. Click the "Browse/Remote" button on the remote and you can listen to Pandora or Slacker radio through your stereo. Start up Microsoft Media Player on a networked computer and it automatically detects the Denon dock and allows you to setup a media server with an on screen menu. It is well built and sleek looking. I love this device almost as much as my iPod Touch.

- Operates on batteries or AC via small world-compatible "wall wart"
- attractive design
- GSM shielding for iPhone
- dock-compatible with the latest models of iPhone and iPod
- auxiliary input (stereo minijack)
- compact and portable
It also features some very peculiar, unique design traits:
- operates in portrait (dock connector at the bottom) or landscape (connector at the right or left) modes
- a sensor automatically adjusts sound and backlighting accordingly
- colored backlight (blue when operating in portrait mode, gray in landscape mode). The light can be turned off via a switch in the battery compartment.
- kickstand functions in both portrait and landscape modes
In case you didn't notice its round shape, Philips thought it wise to remind you by shipping it in a cylindrical cardboard box. It's very pretty, but infuriatingly difficult to open (the lid is glued). A more traditional box would have been less trendy, but probably cheaper to make, ship, and less painful to open.
The biggest surprise was... the sound. I have to admit that I did not expect such a quirky, gimmicky device to sound this good. It has replaced the Altec Lansing iM600USB (which is not iPhone shielded) as my docking station of choice.

With the Rock-n-Roll, Philips has delivered a quirky but excellent docking station that can more than hold its own when compared to popular docking stations from JBL, Altec Lansing and others. It's not my first choice for traveling (some smaller Logitech models which come with a travel case are much better choices for that) but as a nightstand or office dock, it's worth serious consideration. You may get it for the looks, but you'll keep it for the sound!

I've been wanting a book shelf system for the master bedroom of my house, that complemented the environment, and this little guy does the job. It took about two weeks for the unit to arrive, and I was very excited to receive it, so I started googling it. What I found kinda scared me, as there is one REAL review of this product from a guy on cnet, and this guy just trashed the unit. I started to feel, I had made a bad choice.
After receiving the unit, I wasn't disappointed. The unit looks great, and I would say the sound quality is on the upper-mid level of consumer products. It does everything it's suppose to do.
This unit works well in my bedroom; however, there's no way I'd try to use it for a large party. The sound fills my modest room well, but it's not going to be the right unit to replace your home theater system.
There are a few things I wish philips would have incorporated into the DC912. For example, the clock is only visible when the unit is on standby, I wish it was displayed all the time. The alarm settings are very limited - one time for everyday. [you maybe able to use the iPods built in alarm clock to fix this] Mute is instant off, instant on - a fading up and down would be nicen. More control of the EQ, the presets are nice, and will work for most, but I wish I had the ability to adjust them to my liking.
I would recommend this unit to anyone who's looking for a nice sound system, for a bedroom, foyer, or office.
Over all, i think the price is fair.

This Sony docking station makes the music coming out of my iPod sound fantastic. I tried (and returned to a local store) several other iPod docking stations, including a tin can of a product from iHome, and I couldn't be more pleased that I perservered until I got something I love. I am pleased that I can adjust the treble and bass with precision and that music sounds good at low and high volume and everything inbetween. This sounds every bit as good as a $400 shelf system I used to use for CDs, maybe better. The remote works great and the unit takes up very little space. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

(More customer reviews)I bought this alarm clock for it's ease of operation and dimmer for the clock, I like almost everything about it except for one not so small thing...the alarm volume. It is NOT adjustable (at least as far as I can tell). It starts out at 20% of max volume for about 30 seconds, then goes to 70% max volume and stays that way! I'm going to try and contact the company to see if there's any way this can be fixed. I like to lay in bed and listen to music for a little while before I get up for the day, but NOT at 70% volume...if not for this "flaw" I would have given it 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)Ok, lets get something out of the way right off the bat: These are not big speakers. Say that to yourself before buying them. They can not compete with bigger speakers.
Now, that we have established that, My wife had been looking for something small that she could carry around the house to listen to her ipod. These are very convenient. While I would consider myself a little more of an audiophile then the average person, i have to say that these aren't bad for what they are. They aren't going to replace a bigger better choice, but they aren't meant to do that.
I like to plug my iphone in and listen to music while taking a shower. Even though these aren't officially iphone approved, they worked just fine. You get the little nag message about they aren't designed to work with the iphone (blah blah blah), just click no and then listen to your tunes. It even charged my phone while listening.
The bass buttun does add a little more punch. You can also put batteries in this to use it on the go. Since we haven't tried that I have no idea how long the batteries last nor if it charges you iphone/ipod while on batteries.
Finally, these are pretty inexpensive. So for the money they are a great option to get decent audio from your ipod.

(More customer reviews)I think these speakers sound very good. I am a therapist who travels to my clients and use relaxing music with the therapy. The clock light is bright enough that you can see even in a pitch black room. My only complaints are 1) I had to pay an extra $6 and wait extra days to have iHome ship me the correct little piece of plastic adapter so my Nano would fit. You think they would at least include the right part that would fit the iPod as shown. 2) It would be nice if there were a soft case provided that would fit the speakers, AC adapter and iPod. I have to make one. Other than that the speakers are acceptable and I would recommend them if you don't need heavy bass.

(More customer reviews)I'm legally, though not totally, blind. Consequently, I tend to look for products that really stand out visually. Though this display generates from behind a screen, it's the easiest to see, find or focus on that I've ever seen. I think that the screen may also serve to "soften" what might otherwise be a rather harsh LED glow.
The sound from this device is suprisingly deep and rich and, though I hate to say it, surpasses that of my walnut encased VERS dock. I really was taken aback by the range this little cube could generate.
On the down side, if you don't like using printed instructions or prefer to simply dive into setup as I do, this is not an intuitively designed product. While navigating music and volume are straightforward (though I really would have liked a remote with this device) setting time and alarm are not. DON'T LOSE THE INSTRUCTIONS.
Is it worth the $99 price tag? Well, I'd like to say no, but I've purchased two; one for myeself and one for a friend as a housewarming gift. I really do like it and know that my friend does, as well. I'd like to see a lower price, particularly with no remote, but it's afine product, and you know that adage about a product being worth what people are willing to pay for it.

(More customer reviews)Unless you're very picky about the sound of your music, this is not a bad little product for the money. It's sleek and seems solidly built, and fits nicely on my nightstand. It has an iPod player on top, which charges at it plays (all units don't necessarily charge while playing, I found out the hard way), a front usb input and CD player which plays just about any CD media you'd expect out of a unit like this (but is not a slot type). It also has a sleep timer, but only shows the clock (which has no backup battery) when the unit is off. When you are playing media, only the media type (without tags) is shown on the display. Mine doesn't seem to be backlit, so I cannot see the display at night...a minor inconvenience since I also have a separate alarm clock and only use the JVC to fall asleep by. The earphone and audio in jack are in the front, and there's an FM antenna input on the back. I don't get many FM channels since I'm not connected to an antenna, but even with my metal roof, two or three managed to come in clearly even so. The sound is not going to blow your socks off like a large unit, but for it's size, I think it's better than many shelf and/or portable units. There is no bass boost, to speak of. Although you can switch between rock, pop, classic, and jazz modes, I found them to be totally useless, and didn't percieve any change in sound no matter which mode was used. All in all, the sound seems pretty well balanced anyway, with no tinny sound whatever. I like a little extra bass, and this had plenty for my tastes. The remote is thick enough that you don't feel like it's going to break. If this little unit had bass and treble adjustment, and a clock with a back up battery which showed the time as well as the media type playing, I'd have given it five stars. I don't regret my choice for the money I spent, and even with it's flaws, I'd buy it again.
